STAGE 1

Using loan schemes, Cross Roads Records' founders rent the property and set up business. This generates interest amongst music enthusiasts in Stretford, who begin visiting the space. Partnerships and friendships are made amongst frequenters of the shop, and soon small scale music events start to be held in the space. The record shop also generates financial income through the sale of records.

STAGE 2

Record sales are used to fund the creation of some small studio spaces for the practise and creation of music. These are hired out to local musicians.

STAGE 3

Some of the regulars set up a DJ based club night playing at small venues in central Manchester. This generates further profit as well as promoting the record shop beyond Stretford and attracts the attention of a wider audience, who in turn are encouraged to travel to Stretford to visit the shop.

Having generated a buzz beyond Stretford, the owners of the shop approach bodies such as the Arts Council with their programmatic intentions to apply for funding for the erection of the Essoldo centre project.
